1. What Tollgate is

Tollgate is a marketplace where publishers list digital resources behind an HTTP 402 price and buyers (including automated agents) pay per request over the x402 protocol. Tollgate provides the software connecting the two sides.

2. On-chain payments are non-custodial

For the on-chain (exact) scheme, USDC settles directly from the buyer to the publisher's own receive address. Tollgate never takes custody of those funds and cannot reverse a settled on-chain transfer.

3. Sandbox credits are not money

The tollgate-credit scheme uses test credits with no monetary value. It exists for demonstration and testing only and confers no right to withdrawal.

4. Publisher responsibilities

You warrant that you own or may lawfully sell the content you list, that it is not illegal, infringing, or malicious, and that your listing is accurate. You are responsible for your own tax obligations.

5. Refunds and disputes

Publishers may refund payments. Buyers may flag disputes. Sandbox refunds reverse automatically; on-chain refunds are returned by the publisher directly. Tollgate is not an escrow or arbiter.

6. Acceptable use

No fraud, abuse, malware, or circumvention of spending controls. Tollgate may suspend accounts or listings that violate these terms.

7. No warranty; limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, Tollgate is not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

8. Changes

These terms may change; continued use constitutes acceptance of the current version.
